Many homes are looking for reliable internet service, so cellular providers offer residential plans that fulfill that need.
Cellular internet uses the same technology as your cell phone to connect to the cellular network. It depends on your position, how many devices you are connecting to, and how close you are to the network tower that determines your internet speed. Compared to a fiber or cable connection, cellular internet speeds are likely to be slower — but if you have no other options, cellular internet setups could be a viable option.
Using a variety of big telecom companies’ plans, we will compare prices, speeds, and other features, and compare them with 5G technology.
Verizon LTE on T-Mobile
Verizon LTE is available to households without Verizon Fios, or any other internet connection. Verizon’s 4G LTE network allows users to upload and download data at speeds of up to 25Mbps. In terms of speed, these speeds are comparable to DSL, and they are fast enough for streaming HD video and playing light online games. Like Verizon’s other Internet casa services, Verizon LTE does not have data caps.
The LTE service from Verizon will cost you differently if you already have cellular service with Verizon. In addition to your wireless plan, if you sign up for autopay and paperless billing, LTE internet service will cost you $40 per month. As a standalone service, Verizon LTE costs $60 per month without a Verizon mobile plan. This is comparable to what cable internet providers charge.
Obtaining a faster connection from a provider like that for a lower price is likely if you live in that area.
Verizon LTE is available in 189 markets across 48 states, but coverage at your address depends on the carrier.
5G? What do you think?
Verizon’s 5G Home, which uses ultrawideband 5G technology, promises dramatic speed improvements over its previous home internet service. In the current market, there are 28 available markets, but we expect to have expanded that footprint by 2021. It is expected that Verizon will be offering 5G Home to 100 million Americans by the end of this year.
Typical download speeds for 5G Home service are 300 Mbps with a maximum of 1,000 Mbps. However, downstream speeds are more modest, reaching 50Mbps maximum. Five-gigabit home internet is 50 dollars a month, or 70 dollars a month, for current Verizon customers.
In addition to acting as a modem and router, home Internet gateways can also be used with existing routers.

T-Mobile offers mobile Internet access
With T-Mobile’s home internet service, simplicity is one of the benefits. For $60 per month with autopay, you get the fastest cellular speeds at your address. You may have access to download speeds of up to 50Mbps, as well as upload speeds of up to 4Mbps, depending on your location.
One of the best features of the service is that all costs are included in the price. The service doesn’t require you to pay for Wi-Fi equipment rental (Verizon charges $10 per month for a router), data caps, or annual contracts.
Its home internet service is available in 27 states using T-Mobile’s 5G and 4G LTE networks. Several rural areas have been added to the company’s service.
In terms of how it plans to expand the service, T-Mobile has not provided specifics. Read Rick Broida’s impressions of T-Mobile Home Internet here, which he tested recently.
