During the year 2063, the feasibility and commercial viability of space travel will have been achieved. Her purse is snatched by a reckless thief in the spaceport just as cheerful Aries Spring is about to embark on a camp on the distant planet McPa. In the end, the athletic Kanata Hoshijima retrieves it, and Aries quickly realizes that he is among the group of teenagers going on the excursion with her, and this is team B-5. Arriving at their campsite, the group’s trip takes an unexpected turn when they are drawn into the vast reaches of outer space by a strange sphere of black light.

After years of feeling hopeless, they locate an abandoned ship nearby that provides them with a means to return to civilization. However, they soon realize they are thousands of light-years from their home instead of being close to their campsite as they first thought. Upon realizing this, the nine members must carefully manage their resources, maintain their strength, and unite as one to fight against the darkness in space together. Even though it remains unclear what caused their trip to suddenly stall, they embark on their treacherous journey home aboard Astra, their newly purchased ship.
