“Senshadou” is a traditional sport in which tanks from World War II are used in elimination-based matches. Practiced by women and girls alike, it is promoted as a form of art geared toward making females more prominent in culture and appealing to men. Being a worldwide phenomenon over time, the influence of senshadou eventually leads to the creation of a world championship which will soon take place in Japan. As a senshadou specialist who comes from a well-respected family, Miho Nishizumi strove to keep up with her sport until a traumatic event caused her to retire. A rift developed between her and her family after that.
So as to avoid senshadou as much as possible, she switches schools to Ooarai Girls High School where it has been abolished. The news that the upcoming championships are coming up, however, is what pushes the school to organize a tankery program, and Miho decides to join. She must now overcome her past with the help of some new friends and once again execute the Nishizumi-style of senshadou in an aim to keep her school open for another year, at the same time as proving to her parents that it is not only about winning that matters.
